Christmas Season
Black Friday: This term is fairly new to me. The news media tells us that is a common term in the retail industry for the day after Thanksgiving. Oddly enough in the literally hundreds of business books I have read, my thirty years connected to the retail industry, I had never heard this term until a couple of years ago. The term comes from that supposedly many retail businesses operate in the red all year until this day after Thanksgiving. Being in business I am not sure how they manage this and I would love to see how these stores make up eleven months of losses in one month.
