Aran Sweater for Lads &
Lassies

This year we have added a new color typical of the
Highlands, called Peat. Peat brown with Donegal flecks of fall colors. This
color is warm and really lends itself to those warm rich colors of Autumn. Much
like the Heather green, Irish oatmeal and the dark blue, they have small
Donegal like flecks of color. This makes the sweater look for natural. Our
Creme or off white sweater is a solid color for more refined look.
The worsted system is used to produce fine, even, smooth yarns principally for
apparel use. Because the characteristics of the raw material are so variable,
this takes a large number of steps. The worsted system can be divided into two
main processes, topmaking, in which the scoured wool is converted into top, and
spinning, in which the top is converted into yarn.
The traditional Aran sweater is always in fashion, in a Dublin Pub, or by the
fire at your favorite ski lodge. This will keep you warm on those cold days
fishing on the Loch.
