To All Pipers, Drummers and Drum Majors

We need you to participate on Memorial Day Weekend , May 27th , at Lincoln Memorial Park in a massed band settings. The " Moving Wall" will be here in the Portland area Saturday May 27th. Lincoln Memorial Park , 11801 S.E. Mt. Scott. Blvd. Portland, Oregon 97266
Performance time will be approximately at 7:30 PM.

Veterans of any era will receive the new " Warrior Medal of Valor" in a presentation ceremony at 2:30 P.m. , but you must submit your name to Mac Upjohn at pipermac2@aol.com for details and Veterans to register.

On a personal note. I know Mac Upjohn and when he called to let us know about this, I was proud to be part of it. Please take a moment and drop Mac a email pipremac2@aol.com and let him know that we all appreciate his efforts to make this tribute to our veterans happen.

The Patriot Guard Riders are a group of  individuals that have come together to 1. Show our sincere respect for our fallen heroes, their families, and their communities.

2. Shield the mourning family and friends from interruptions created by any protestor or group of protestors.

Sponsoring the ride event is the ICVMC (Incountry Veterans Motorcycle Club)  The Patriot Guard Riders will help and provide an escort for the Memorial Wall. Below is their schedule.
 

Here is the latest, greatest "updated times" for the "Wall Escort" coming through Oregon and ending up in Portland on May 22/23.
   We are expecting a huge turn out for this ride, both motorcycles and vehicles. Please plan to ride with us!!

Depart: LATUS MOTORS HARLEY-DAVIDSON

                 870 E. BERKELEY ST.

                 GLADSTONE, OR 97027

 

HEAD SOUTH TO Phoenix, Oregon    (can pickup riders going south)

 

   5 PM- Reception Hosted by D&S Harley Davidson  in Phoenix

 

TUESDAY, MAY 23, 2006                6:00a.m.

Depart: Phoenix, ESCORTING TRUCK

 

8:30 a.m. arrive ROSEBURG  [103 miles] Loves Truck Stop for gas

South of Roseburg, Winston/Coos Bay exit.

 

9:00 a.m. depart escorting truck

 

10:30 a.m. arrive BROWNSVILLE (gas) [ 93 miles]

 

11:00 a.m. depart  Brownsville

 

12:45 p.m. arrive  New Hope Community Church. 11731 SE Stevens Rd. Portland

  ** This is where all bikes are to stage to pick up the escort for the final leg

 

12:45 p.m. depart for Lincoln Memorial

 

 1:00 p.m. ARRIVE LINCOLN MEMORIAL 

 

Times are not set in stone due to volume of riders; however this is the best times to be at sites if you care to be in the convoy.
