Black Kilt – What is the Best Black Utility Kilt For Sale?

Selecting and buying the best black kilt for sale can be difficult, as it hard to identify a kilt that is relatively inexpensive, yet provides high quality. This is especially so when it comes to modern kilts such as the “black kilt”, where relatively few kilt companies produce such types of kilt.

What Black Kilt should I Choose?

This is a question we are often faced with. If you are looking for a more traditional look, there are many black kilts which are based around the traditional Scottish Kilt. These often look rather stylish, especially if worn with a tweed Argyll jacket, like this example below.

The black kilt is popular, like the Black Isle tartan.

You will notice that a 5 button waistcoat tends to be worn with a dark tweed Argyll jacket. Other kilt jackets will look equally as good, such as the traditional Prince Charlie jacket. A plain white shirt with a bow tie completes the look. A ruffled tie is also rather popular. While black kilt socks tend to be quite popular these days, I would advise against black kilt socks with a black kilt, as it could be too dark and morbid. Traditional white kilt hose, like in the image above, will be perfect. The tartan used in the kilt above is the “Black Isle” tartan.

Another style of kilt which may be of interest to you, is this all black kilt. As you can see, there is no tartan pattern.

This all black kilt is quite popular.

This example is wearing a traditional Prince Charlie jacket, with a 5 button waist coat. You will also notice that he is wearing a ruffled tie, with a winged collar. An all black kilt is perfect is you have a high quality kilt pin, as you can see that the pin is really prominent and noticeable on a kilt of this color. A sporran with a unique style could be a good idea.

If you are looking for a more relaxed and casual black kilt, then a utility kilt could be a good style to choose. What is a utility kilt you may ask? Well, it is a modern version of the traditional kilt, which is made of different materials. For example, there is a black leather kilt available on our website, aswell as an every day black utility kilt, such as this one below:

The black kilt has become popular in recent years.

The popularity of these black utility kilts has sky rocketed in recent years, as they have featured on many popular TV shows such as “True Blood”, and “Survivor”. While they may not be everyone’s cup of tea, they are becoming especially popular in the US.

If you need some advice as to what kilt to go for, please feel free to contact us using the contact form. We will endeavor to answer your queries within 24 hours. Because black kilts are quite rare, they may need to be custom made, so make sure you order well in advance of a special event to avoid disappointment.
