What Military Kilt Should you Choose? Military Kilts for Sale
Each of America’s main defense forces have their own tartan. It is important that if you are member of the Navy, to choose the official tartan assigned to the Navy.
US Navy Kilt Tartan
As you can see, this is a rather simple yet stylish tartan, with various shades of blue and black. This type of kilt would be most suited to be worn with an Argyll jacket, although other kilt jackets will look equally as good, such as the traditional Prince Charlie jacket. Black kilt socks are advisable to be worn, as opposed to traditional white kilt hoses.
US Army Kilt Tartan
As you can see, this tartan is vastly different to the Navy tartan. It makes use of greens, and yellows to give it a rugged army look, which is smart and modern. The US Army kilt tends to be worn at official engagements.
US Air Force Kilt Tartan
The US Air Force kilt tartan features a smart and interesting combination of sky blue, black and navy blue. You will also notice that there are a small amount of gold, red and white pinstripes integrated into the tartan. This particular example is worn with a sgian dubh (small knife in the kilt sock), a kilt pin and a sporran. Again, this would be worn during formal occasions, and will most commonly be seen being worn by the Air Force band while performing.
US Marine Corps Kilt Tartan
Above is the US Marine Corps Kilt tartan. It features blue and green checks with a red and yellow intertwined into the tartan. This example US Marine Corps Kilt is worn with a traditional Prince Charlie Jacket, a 3 button waistcoat, with bow tie. White kilt hoses are normally worn with this tartan.

This tartan is worn during ceremonial occasions by the US Coastguard – both those who are in active duty, as well as those who have retired.
