The Hunting Sporran tends to be oval in shape, and doesn’t have any tassels on the front of the sporran. This is perfect for those who play a musical instrument. For example, a drummer would find that the tassels of the sporran would get in the way of their drum playing, especially when they are walking. We are not actually sure where the hunting sporran name came from. Whether it was used on Scottish hunts, we are not sure. It is generally assumed the Hunting Sporran was given a different name to differentiate itself from the traditional day sporran.
