Our Doublet Kilt Jacket is one of the most inexpensive custom made doublets available for sale. Made in Scotland with light weight 15oz cloth, you will receive a high quality & comfortable doublet. We can keep costs down with this particular Doublet because it has less trim & braiding compared to our Military Doublet Jacket. Don’t worry, the quality of workmanship is still there!
This particular style of Doublet jacket is made from our high quality wool barathea (15oz). It makes use of medium weight interfacing. You will notice that it is decorated with one line of Russia braid. This is in comparison to the Military Doublet, which has two lines. The shells of the doublet feature detailed Scottish braid.
The Doublet Kilt Jacket is fitted with buttons which are chrome plated. It also has a “hook & eye” closure system on the collar. You may notice that the doublet has one front pocket hidden under the right hand flap .
Please note – Because our Doublet Kilt Jacket is custom made in Scotland, it is quite slim fitting as it made for UK sizes. American customers should consider ordering one size up from what they’d normally wear. For example, if you wear a 44 Regular jacket, you would have to order a 46 Regular doublet. All Doublet jackets will be shipped within 7-10 weeks.
