The Kilkenny Vest is a stylish Irish Kilt Vest and a great option to consider instead of the Scottish Argyll vest. A kilt vest is a cost effective way to dress up your kilt for more formal occasions.
It is possible to wear the Kilkenny Vest with a shirt that is unbuttoned at the top without a tie for a more informal look. For formal occasions, you can wear a dress shirt buttoned up to the top with a bow tie or neck tie. Our Kilkenny Vest is made from the finest Wool Barathea (15oz). The main difference between the Kilkenny and the Argyll Jacket is that the Kilkenny vest has what are known as “antiqued” buttons, which are round. They also feature the Irish harp on them, rather than the Scottish Lion.
Each vest is custom made in Scotland, so it will take 6-10 weeks to ship, sometimes quicker. Please note these are UK sizes, so if you are an American customer, please order one size bigger than you normally do. For example, if you are a Size 48, you would order a Size 50.
